Today you say
you couldn’t wait
tears roll…
it must be fate
since …
I never cry.
I thought it was
something else…
do or die
but please don’t lie.
I’m tired.
Simply tired.
Confused..
refused..
it
doesn’t really
matter
if..
it’s me
if it’s you..
because ..
in the end
it’s all sin
and
we…
both lose..
So
go ahead
and speak
again..
There’s
really nobody
listening in..
just say it…
’cause…
I’m tired.

Dotted with horses,
bright flowers
t’s crossed
with barb less
wire,
gnarly mesquite
hugging
cacti;
a prickly embrace
of
Texas heat.

Lost in the Blues

I lost myself
a thousand years ago ,
hiding in the streets
in plain sight.
People
passing
over me,
yesterday’s garbage
of unknown descent.
I grew
feral,
wild as the stray cats
which kept me company.
Too many liars,
too many thieves
stealing
stardust wonder
and dreams
from babies’
eyes
that once sparkled,
like the crystals
in the snow
and the stars
in the skies.
I never knew that though.
I thought that was
life.
It was my life.
Sometimes

when it rains …

heavy in my soul,
I’m transported back
and walk ….
the endless
cold streets
of my memories.

The River knows

The river knows

the curves

and flows,

the

shifting sand

and where it goes.

I cried a little,

a tangle of emotions.

Then I laughed,

in joy

and yes….

celebration

of life.

I’ve always loved

walking the high wire,

it eliminates

a lot of dead ends

found

in the rambling maze

of life

and the danger….

takes my breath away.

I followed the river

of water and ice

and thought about recycling,

old becoming new

again

as the Spring thaws;

my heart

still misses you.

I whispered my secrets

to the sly wind

blowing

through my hair

and trees alike.

My words

flew away quickly,

tossed

like old Autum leaves

from the yet bare trees

to the ground below,

where they drifted,

tumbling

across the bank.

Yes….

the river knows.

My money’s on Monet!

In for a penny,

in for a pound…

I’ve always heard

put

your money

where was mouth was…

so I did…

and

sometimes my left foot.

She can do that too,

my little Monet

flexible as a rubberband.

I have to laugh

at her antics,

her contageous giggles…

she has her “cheese” down pat,

a charmer in the view finder.

She leads by the chin

bold and bright,

tap dancing on the tables

as she sings about “Tomorrow”

an unknown concept

and Dumb dog,

whom she adores.

She spins

faster than my head….

and already lives on the edge,

sneaking

dark chocolate

into her little bed.

I smile,

this apple

is a lot ….

like the tree.
